At the heart of Climb Murfreesboro is our setting team… a creative, dedicated, and hardworking crew who provides our gyms with some of the best setting in the region! Lead by our Director of Route Setting, Jonathan Brandt, our team works tirelessly 5 days/week stripping, cleaning, resetting, and forerunning every single climb to provide fun, rewarding challenges for our members and guests! Each of our setters has their own unique style that is evident in each of the moves they set.

At Climb Murfreesboro, we are proud to have a team of setters that truly love what they do, and they see every day of setting as an opportunity to get creative, have some fun, and create routes that push our climbers to be the best they can be. After 5 years in Boulder, CO learning from some of the best, Justin is in Murfreesboro to continue his routesetting journey a little closer to home. Originally from East Tennessee, he is excited to be back in the south. A continuous pursuit of the craft since 2011 has earned him a USAC level 4 routesetting endorsement. When not in the gym, he can usually be found off-trail in the woods looking for the future.

Having finished up with a degree in philosophy in Southern California, Kyle moved to St. Louis, MO where he began to routeset. In addition to setting, he also instructed outdoor rock- and tree climbing programs, eventually earning his AMGA Single Pitch Instructor certification. Coming from Bend, Oregon most recently, he enjoys good coffee and disc golf anywhere he goes. As a USAC level 1 routesetter, Kyle has set for a handful of local and regional competitions. Upon hearing about the Hotter than Chicken competition, he had to check out Tennessee.
